Black Bloggers to Follow

Screen Shot 2020-06-07 at 7.45.57 PMHey all! In the spirit of #BlackLivesMatter, I just wanted to share some awesome blogs to follow, all with incredible Black authors!

Oneika is a travel blogger and you’ll love seeing what she shares! Media personality, journalist, and keynote speaker Oneika Raymond is the host of Travel Channel’s One Bag and You’re Out and Big City, Little Budget. She’s also an on-air travel and lifestyle correspondent for NBC New York and CTV Canada. A bona fide travel junkie, her adventures have taken her to over 115 countries on 6 continents.

Don’t forget to check out Mattie James, faith and lifestyle blogger! “Creating this site has been years in the making. After style blogging for 7 years, I decided it was time for a change. While blogging about my daily outfits was fun, quite a bit changed over the years. I became a mom, started blogging full time, and grew in my faith. Hence why it was time to graduate to”

The ever favorite millennial lifestyle blog, written by Terry-Ann. She describes herself as, “A twenty-something navigating adulthood in the beautiful city of Boston. A recovering donut addict, and a contributing writer for Elite Daily, and The Huffington Post.”

The G-List Societygoes beyond blogging and gossip to explore different themes within the black gay/SGL community. They also break news from time to time, like when they obtained the full video of that alleged Dallas BBQ “gay-bashing” from last year and exposed some troubling racial politics behind the accusations.

Follow Michelle Blue! The Journey with Blue is a talk show and community sharing the transparent stories of inspiring entrepreneurs, diving deeper into conversations around the importance of wellness as an entrepreneur, and equipping you with the tools and resources needed to grow your business. So, for the fellow entrepreneur, hopeful entrepreneur or whatever road you decide to take, be encouraged knowing that you are not alone and the beauty lies within the ‘Journey’.

I’ll let this next blogger introduce herself! “I’m LeWahn, the Marveling Millennial, and welcome to my blog! I am a mid-twenty-something millennial born and raised in Washington, DC. My reason behind starting a blog was the lack of authenticity of the day-to-day life of the majority of millennial blogs I come across.”

Any moms out there? Because you’ll definitely want to follow this next blog! Honeycomb Moms is a sisterhood of black millennial moms raising their children to be thoughtful, kind, and brilliant. They parent the way bees make honey — together.

We can all use some extra motivation! And you’ll find that at A Black Girl’s Guide to Weightloss. “Hi, I’m Erika! Lovingly known as Evil Fitness Barbie or The Fitness Fairy Godmother, I’m a wife and mother of two (!) who has gone from couch potato to NASM-certified trainer, with specialties in weight loss, women’s fitness, and nutrition.”

Bianca Dottin is a lifestyle expert, mama, and blogger who loves to share her passion for traveling, cooking, baking, and creating.

Here’s another awesome millennial sharing her life! “My name is Coco Bassey, and I’m a Nigerian native based in New York City and Atlanta, who spends most of my days working in the corporate marketing world, and my nights and weekends working on this little project of mine that you’re reading right now! I’m a Pisces, a cancer survivor… and as you’ve probably already guessed, a millennial.”

The Black Detour is an independent media outlet that advocates for Black people to not only be empowered but informed on issues in the Black community.

Mused Magazine Online is more of a thoughtful space for young black gay men than a sexed-up gay gossip site or even a place for news, and that’s fine with us. There are pieces about culture and lifestyle here, but the site leans heavily on opinion pieces that show the diversity of thought from the contributors from across the U.S., some of whom are still in their college years.
