Sometimes you need a vacation that isn’t even three days long and is filled with coffee. I call these “Pocket Vacations” because they’re so small they can fit in your poc- I take that back. I’m so sorry for this. I regret everything I’ve ever said.
ANYWAYS. I had one of these recently in Atlanta, Georgia. One of my good friends from high school (are you as surprised as I am that I had friends in high school?) moved to the big GA last year and so far she’s loving it. I thought “hey I could use this human to see a new city without having to pay for housing” and so I slid in her DMS.
School just started. I know this isn’t news to you, and the reminder probably is making you grumble and roll your eyes. Just know that you’re waking up early and trudging to class for a reason. You may forget what that reason is, especially after a professor shows up with a pop quiz or tells you your first exam is next week, I mean come one, we just started. But try to remind yourself why you’re there. Whether it’s high school or college, you’re learning and you have this opportunity that so many people will never have.
Take advantage of the resources given to you. Used books, bus schedules, coffee. Drink that coffee. Continue reading →

For those of you who know, my first goal in life is to travel. To go somewhere I’ve never been, to meet people I wouldn’t have known if I had never gotten on that bus, drove that car, or boarded that plane. If I could travel for a living, I would. It’s my breath, lifeline, addiction.

As most of you know, I’ve developed a heart for traveling. The last six months I have lived in Texas, Hawaii, Amsterdam, Arkansas and visited Paris. Each place has its perks and disadvantages. Hawaii is gorgeous and the beach is a short walk away, but I’ve never been so miserable due to heat and humidity. If you enjoy the beach-Hawaii is amazing.
